      Marc Kaiser

      Carrollton, MO | Season 2

For Marc Kaiser, every season feels like one big science experiment. Every season, he and his family carefully examine each part of their operation to best continue their legacy.

      Operation overview:
      Crops:
      soybean
      corn
      Tillage
      No-till, minimal-till and conventional till

      What drives Marc?

It can be summed up in two words: Continuous improvement. This starts with multiple trials every year, then making data-driven decisions from there.Marc looks at inputs, soil fertility and yield to delineate what works and how he can replicate the successes across more acres.

      Fertility Program

Marc and his wife Megan, operation Perry Ag Lab Farm Management, where they travel the world helping other growers understand their soil, so they take their own fertility program seriously so they can provide recommendations and insights to other growers.

Marc grid samples every acre, every 4 years on a rotation. Then, he utilizes those soil tests to look at the physical balance indicated by the balance of calcium and magnesium, the biological productivity, indicated by the organic matter; and the mineral fertility of not only the macronutrients, but the micronutrients.

      Why biologicals?

For this year’s science experiment, Marc is exploring biologicals for the first time. He has two big questions: Can he get a response where the biological activity is already building organic matter, catalyzing an already successful cycle? Conversely, will biologicals be helpful in areas where the biology is not as active and the organic matter is lower?

He’s been curious about how and where biologicals could benefit their operation. He’s looking forward to overlaying our soil tests and looking at the physical and biological portions of those tests to compare where biologicals can make a difference.

      Dig into the data

Our TruResponse™ platform lets you explore field trial data in your area to see where our biologicals are working and where they are not. Then, use that insight to put Mosaic Biosciences products to work for you.
