    In-field yield insights

Midseason is a key time to track your crop’s progress and spot early signs of crop stress, so you can help you make timely decisions that protect your yield potential — and your bottom line.

Monitoring key in-field traits closely can give you valuable insights into your crop’s yield potential, helping you make informed decisions and maximize your Return on Fertilizer Investment (ROFI).

    Strong root development

Roots are the nutrient transportation system. Without a healthy root system, in-soil and applied nutrients have less hope of making it into growing plants when they need them.

A solid root ball with no hollow center, a deep, even root spread and a healthy white color are all indicators that your root system is growing strong and helping ferry nutrients to your growing crop.

Biologicals like BioPath® and PowerCoat™ support microbes that produce plant growth-promoting compounds essential for root development, enabling more efficient nutrient absorption, leading to stronger plants and higher yield potential.

Minimal signs of stress or nutrient deficiencies

Stress and deficiencies have the potential to quickly rob your crops of their yield potential. Without scouting and tissue testing, before you know it, you could be looking at a major limiting factor.

Sometimes stress is inevitable thanks to Mother Nature, but by ensuring your crops have the nutrients they need during peak uptake times throughout the season, you can help your plant deal with stressors and continue to grow.

The select strains of Bacillus in BioPath produce organic acids and enzymes that improve the solubilization of fertilizer into plant-available forms.

Those nutrients are then made more available to the roots, creating a stronger, more vigorous plant that can better manage stresses throughout the season and optimize yields.

    Uniform stand and canopy

An even stand and canopy provide light interception and photosynthesis across the field and reduce plant competition, allowing each individual plant to access what they need to grow.

It’s also a sign of uniform nutrient uptake and utilization. This can be further examined through regular tissue testing. Tissue testing can give you further insight into your crop and give you the opportunity to make in-season management decisions that could have significant impacts on yield and ROFI.

From root color to even stand, these indicators provide insight into how your crop is performing — and where it may need support. With regular scouting, tissue testing and an adaptable crop nutrition plan, you can make timely, informed decisions that help maximize both yield potential and ROFI.
